Review // Coloured Raine Eye Shadow

Recently I purchased some of the Coloured Raine Eye Shadows from the Beauty Bay Website after being instantly mesmerized by them. They retail for around £7 each and are available in a range of shades  and I picked out 9 colours plus a small Z palette to store them in.

The packaging is really simple and elegant and each package has a little window so you can see the colour and also are named on the front too.
They are housed in a plastic mould to keep them in place and come as singular pan eye shadows with the name of each shade on the base. They are exactly the same size as the Makeup Geek Eye Shadow Pans and you can fit up to 9 in a small Z Palette.
These are the shades that I chose. In the first row, the top shade is called 'Glisten' and this is a shimmery white colour with a hint of a light yellow undertone. Next to that we have 'Moments' which is a reddy-crimson shade with a matte finish. Beside that we have the shade 'Chocolate' which is a deeper and richer matte brown.
On the next row, 'Glamour' is a gorgeous taupe toned gold which I love wearing across the lids and then in the middle is 'Champagne Life' which is a shimmery champagne shade. The matte black is called 'Black Moon'.
Finally on the bottom row, the silver shade is called 'Flashing Lights' and that insanely beautiful blue shade is called 'Malibu'. Finally, 'Secrets' is a shimmery rich, warm reddy-brown shade.
As you can see from the swatches, the pigmentation is incredibly vibrant and opaque. The shimmery eye shadows feel a little bit on the crumblier side and there is some fall out with them. The matte shades feel very smooth in consistency and they all blend really well with each other and are long lasting to wear.
This is the look I created with some of the shades, I used the darker browns in the crease to define and contour the socket line a bit, used 'Glamour' on the lid and highlighted the inner corner with 'Glisten' and smoked out the outer corners with a touch of the black. I did incorporate some Makeup Geek shades just to help with transitioning and blending but the main colours used are from the Coloured Raine collection.

Overall, I love these shadows. I am really drawn to the gold and the blue tone. However, I do wish they had some more colour options because they did seem to be very bright and mainly shimmery. I'd give these a 4.5 out of 5 rating because they are incredibly pigmented and are long wearing but I feel that most of the shades from this brand are for the lids as they are stunningly shimmery and there is a lack of shades for the crease or to highlight etc.
