June 2015 Favourites

Image
It's that time of the month again; Monthly Favourites. There are three particular products I have been constantly reaching for this month so here is what I've been loving during June.

June 2015 Haul

Image
This month I have bought some new clothing pieces for Summer and also some makeup because.. how can I not? I have suffered from a few impulse buys this month but I also got some products I am really excited for.

Mother Gothel Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Image
The last Disney Villain, for now, is Mother Gothel from Tangled. I love how the eye makeup turned out because I love the combination of the berry and the gold eye shadow and think it's really authentic for the time period she is originally from. Apart from the dramatic brows, I think that the eye makeup is still a look that I would willingly wear out.

Cruella de Vil Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Image
The next Disney Villain tutorial is Cruella de Vil; my favourite Disney Villain! I love how this makeup look turned out and I even decided to wear the wig as well! The eye makeup is actually something I would wear but I tried to capture some of the features of Cruella in the cheekbones, eyebrows and lips.

Evil Queen Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Image
Welcome to my new tutorial series! This time I am doing makeup tutorials inspired by Disney Villains because I think they are so much more interesting as characters in Disney, and while Disney Princesses are pretty much the same, the villains, I think, have much more personality and different qualities that make them unique. The makeup that I am doing for the villains are what I expect to be what they would wear if they were real people and today I am beginning with the Evil Queen from Snow White.

MUA Cosmetics Pro Base Fixing Mist Review

Image
A product that I haven't used before is a setting spray, and recently I have been wanting to try one so I picked up the MUA Pro Base Fixing Mist in Superdrug for £5 and since I don't own any other ones, I cannot compare between other brands. This setting spray 'fixes your makeup in place all day long' and 'protects against heat, humidity, cold and windy conditions; whatever your day throws at you, your makeup will hold in place.'

Makeup Revolution Mermaids Forever Palette Review and Tutorial

Image
Makeup Revolution continue to amaze us all with their incredible new product releases and this palette has been on my wish list since it was launched. This is the Mermaids Forever palette which contains 32 gorgeous eye shadow shades and retails for £8. Since I loved the Beyond Flawless Palette, I was really excited to have something that was more colourful in the collection. Since I got my hands on this palette, they've released some new products so I'm so excited to do some blog posts about them!

Maybelline Colour Drama Intense Velvet Lip Liner Review

Image
I picked up one of these Colour Drama Velvet Lip Liners by Maybelline quite randomly, but I was so impressed with it I went back and got two more. These retail for £4.99 from Superdrug and Boots.

MUA Cosmetics Pro Base Matte Satin Pressed Powder

Image
Another new product from MUA is the Pro Base Matte Satin Pressed Powder, £2.50 in Superdrug. This is a compact pressed powder which I'm hoping will help to mattify my skin, set my foundation in place while providing a subtle amount of colour. This shade is called Ivory and there are six shades available in total.

Festival Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Image
For this festival makeup look, I am using the Sleek I-Divine Del Mar Volume 2 Palette and I am going with a peach and gold eye with a hint of blue and yellow. I love this because it is a bright eye but still wearable.

Rimmel Lipstick Lock Review

Image
One of the biggest problems I have with makeup is getting my lipstick to stay on especially after eating, drinking or a lot of talking. I saw the Rimmel Lipstick Lock on the Superdrug website for £4.99 and I picked it up when I was in store.

MUA Cosmetics Bronze & Sculpt Contour Kit

Image
I was so excited to see this new product launched into the MUA Cosmetics Summer Collection. This is a 'duo, bronzing compact perfect for effortless contouring' and retails for £5 in Superdrug. This shade is Medium/Dark and they also have another shade which is Light/Medium. I didn't see any swatches in the store so I was completely oblivious to what the colour was inside the packaging, but regardless I wanted to try it.

Prom Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Image
Heading into Prom season, I decided to do a makeup tutorial for the occasion in case you are stuck for inspiration. This tutorial is a quite a dramatic look and uses two eye shadow colours with a soft lip and this is something that will suit everyone.

Meghan Trainor 'Dear Future Husband' Inspired Makeup Tutorial

Image
I love Meghan Trainor's songs and music videos and I really wanted to do a makeup tutorial inspired by a recent video. She has different makeup looks in her videos and this look is the one that she wears first in the video. I really like this look because the eye shadow is quite neutral and it has that thicker exaggerated winged line and the bolder lips.
