April 2016: Products I'm Currently Loving

Image
For the end of this months post, I wanted to show you the makeup products I have been loving recently. This is slightly different to my normal Monthly Favourites as these are what I have been drawn to using for weeks and months and what I seem to be reaching for no matter what. Also, it was such a nice sunny day when I was taking these photos so I decided to snap them outside and I am so feeling the Summer vibes and it just makes me so much more happy!

3ina Makeup Review

Image
In a blog post last week I showed you a haul of what I had bought in London and briefly talked about a new makeup store called 3ina (which is pronounced like Mina) in Covent Garden. I was really excited about this shop and picked up a few things which I wanted to review for you.

Rosie for Autograph Luxury 4 Piece Brush Set

Image
I recently got the new 4 piece brush set from the Rosie for Autograph makeup collection and I was instantly drawn to it because of how gorgeous everything about these brushes are!

Massive London Shopping Haul

Image
Earlier in the month I decided to take myself on a shopping trip to London and I specifically wanted to visit a new makeup store that had opened and one thing led to another so I ended up coming back home with a whole bunch of stuff and I thought that I would show you what I picked up since I haven't really done a haul in a while.

Springtime Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial

Image
A lot of makeup tutorials that you see for Spring and Summer are usually quite neutral, very soft and to me it doesn't really stand out. Personally I love bolder eyes and I love to really define and smoke out my eye makeup so I created this look which combines different tones and textures which is still quite dramatic and bold but still reflects the natural elements of Spring. I am using Sleek palettes for this look; 'A New Day', 'All Night Long' and 'Original'.

Rimmel Kate Moss Scuplting Palette

Image
If you loved Rimmel's collection of lipsticks designed by Kate Moss, then you'll love her latest creation; a three shade blush, highlight and bronzer sculpting palette, priced at £6.99 for the three shades. The Kate Sculpting Palette is a "clever combo of three powder shades; a highlighter, bronzer and blush, that seamlessly blend with your natural skin tone to create a contoured look. The kit works with every face shape and skin tone, adding definition and structure".

L'Oreal Infallible Matte Max Lipstick

Image
I have some serious mixed feelings about these L'Oreal Matte Max Lipsticks, £6.99 each. As much as I love them, I can't help but feel so disappointed with them at the same time.

What I'm Reading

Image
It's not often that I sit down and read a book but recently I've been wanting to find a new way of relaxing. I've been reading Me Before You by Jojo Moyes after seeing the trailer for the film at the cinema and I cannot wait for the movie to hit the big screen! This book retails for around £7.99 in all good bookstores. When I first saw the trailer for Me Before You I knew it was going to be a tear-jerker. I may or may not have shed a tear just at the trailer and by the time I see the film I could possibly be an emotional wreck. I haven't finished this book yet, I'm about half way through so I will try to not give away any spoilers throughout is post.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette Tutorial

Image
While I was having a sort out of my palettes, I came across a lot of palettes that have been pushed under everything and that I haven't really touched a lot so while I was bored I was creating some eye makeup looks and I decided to make some of them into tutorials because I really like how they turned out. This look is created from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette and its a bronze golden eye.

Sleek Lip VIP Semi-Matte Lipsticks

Image
These exciting new lipsticks from Sleek were launched a few months back, however I wanted to talk about them now as I think they are the perfect lipsticks for Spring and Summer. These are called the Lip VIP Semi Matte Lipstick and they retail at £5.49 each and come in a range of six shades. I picked up three shades that I liked; a nude, a mid toned pink and a darker red-toned pink.

Fortune Favours the Brave

Image
Created in collaboration with BritishBeautyBlogger, Makeup Revolution have launched a brand-new 30 shade eye shadow palette, £10. I was really excited when I first saw the announcement of this palette and couldn't wait for it to become available to purchase. This palette is called 'Fortune Favours the Brave' and is described as having "thirty shades of matte, glimmer and sheen combined in one golden palette for an every which-way smoky eye. From the lightest of brightening base colours to the darkest, most daring shades of navy, black and green and everything in between, Fortune is the most versatile, every-age, every-tone palette yet."

Rosie for Autograph Cream Eye Shadow Sticks

Image
If I had to describe these products in one word, I would say: stunning! The Rosie for Autograph Cream Eyeshadow Sticks have been a recent addition into my makeup collection and I cannot even begin to tell you how much I adore them!

How I Learnt Makeup Skills

Image
Over the last year or so, I have been really serious about developing the skills and education to become a professional makeup artist and I wanted to share how I learnt my makeup skills - without going to a makeup or beauty school. Pretty much everything I know about makeup and the application of it has been self-taught and I wanted to go through some of my favourite resources for learning makeup skills in this post.
