Makeup of the Month: May 2015

Image
In this new addition to my blog, I am showing you the makeup looks I wear to different events and occasions during the month. I see people doing OOTD, FOTD and stuff like that so I'm doing MOTM (Makeup of the Month). These are looks that may or may not have made it into tutorials on my blog and this way you can see the type of makeup I wear for different things and what makeup I use.

May 2015 Haul

Image
This months haul is a bit of a short one, I didn't buy as much as I wanted to but I did make a few purchases so here is what I bought this month.

May 2015 Favourites

Image
This month I have been loving four products in particular that I have been constantly using everyday or almost everyday.

Essence All About Matte Fixing Compact Powder

Image
When I saw this Fixing Compact Powder by Essence in Wilko for £3 I was so intrigued about what it does. I wanted to get it because my skin can get very oily and I constantly look for products that can deal with that situation.

Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme Volum' Waterproof Mascara Review

Image
The time had come for me to get a new mascara and I was in need of a waterproof mascara at the time for an event, and I ended up walking away with the Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme Waterproof Mascara. I actually got this for £5 in Sainsbury's in May, but this usually retails at around £7.99.

Makeup Revolution Beyond Flawless Ultra Eye Shadow Palette Review and Tutorial

Image
I have been slightly addicted to Makeup Revolution recently, and they have an incredible selection of palettes all at different prices. I've already reviewed the Flawless Matte palette, which is another product in this collection, and I saw the Beyond Flawless palette for £8 and decided to buy it and try this one out.

A Cloudy Day in London

Image
Recently I visited London again and I wanted to get better pictures than last time. The last time I went to London was on my 18th birthday in February, which I didn't really blog about, and the day we went was a nice and sunny day but this time it was very cloudy and a bit rainy, but I prefer cloudy days like this because it means dramatic photos! Anyway, we went on the London Eye and the London Eye River Cruise again and it seemed to be much better this time. I apologise for the quality of the last few photos, I took some on my phone and my iPad and the better ones are from my camera. It did rain while we were on the London Eye which is why there are raindrops on the photos. I also apologise for the bombardment of selfies at the end... Enjoy.

I love the Real Technique's brushes because they are so durable and sturdy and are great to apply makeup. I decided to get the Miracle Complexion Sponge to experiment with new ways of applying foundation. This retails for £5.99 in Superdrug and Boots.

Makeup Revolution The Viper Mascara Review

Image
I actually can't believe it's been just over a year since the launch of Makeup Revolution, and over this time they have released so many different unique and impressive products and one of the latest releases is The Viper Mascara, the mascara with bite. This retails for absolutely amazing bargain price of £3 in Superdrug and after reading some great reviews I decided to try it out for myself.

Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte Ultra Eye Shadow Palette Review

Makeup Revolution has a great selection of palettes containing different finishes and colours. I picked up the Flawless Matte Ultra Eye Shadow Palette which contains 32 matte shades for £8 in Superdrug.

Happy 5th Birthday MUA Cosmetics!

Image
This post is a little bit out of the ordinary, but it is a very special blog post. This year, one of my most all-time loved makeup bands, MUA Cosmetics, turned 5, and in honour of this, I wanted to share with you my entire MUA collection and some of my favourite products. As you can see, I have a large collection of MUA and this is what I have accumulated over the last few years.

MUA Cosmetics Sweet Sheen Lip Balm Review

Image
One of the newest product launches into the MUA Cosmetics SS15 Collection are these essential Sweet Sheen Lip Balms, £2 each in Superdrug. They have 6 shades, I believe, of these lip balms and I chose two shades of pink.

Image
The B. Makeup Brush Cleanser is a new and exclusive product to Superdrug and retails for £4.99. This is a conditioning brush cleanser that disinfects and cleans cosmetic brushes.

Wilko Premium Smokey Eye Brush

Image
Wilko have an impressive range of makeup brushes that are so affordable, including eye, lip and face brushes. I chose to get the Smokey Eye Brush which was £3.

L'Oreal Paris Superstar Mascara and Liner Review

Image
When I bought the L'Oreal Palette, which I reviewed in my last blog post, I also purchased the new L'Oreal Superstar Mascara and Eyeliner. I am always on the hunt for mascaras that give my lashes a great false lash effect, and I also am a massive lover of liquid eyeliners that are easy to apply and stay put all day. I've seen that these are really great products so hopefully I will see that for myself and agree.

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche La Palette Nude Rose Review and Tutorial

Image
I've been trying some new brands recently, and one of the brands that caught my attention was L'Oreal because I saw this palette being used in a tutorial and thought it was absolutely gorgeous! This is a rose-toned palette which I absolutely love the look of so I decided to purchase this with two other products which you can read about in my next blog post.
