First Impression Review | Natural Collection Lip Sticks and Glosses
Today's review is a continuation of the Natural Collection Eye Shadow Review I did last week. This time I'm reviewing the lipsticks and glosses from the same collection. I purchased some lipsticks and glosses at £1.99 each. In Boots, there is a buy 1 get one half price offer on these products so it's worth going to see what other products they had.
This was the first colour that caught my eye. It's a gorgeous rich pink called 'Pink Orchid'. As you can see in the swatches, it is a really shiny pink that is great carries that shine onto the lips. Unfortunately, the appearance of pigmentation does not appear on the lips. As you can see, it seems more sheer on the lips than in the tube. But, at £1.99, I'm not complaining that much. In the last photo, you can see the shape of the lipstick. It kind of curves into tip which makes application easy and neat.
This is the shade 'Sweet Pea'. The photo of the tube show that its a sweet mid pink shade but the swatches show that its quite similar to MUA shade 5.
This is 'Sheer Natural'. It is a really sheer natural, just like it claimed. It works well for a dramatic eyes because this is really soft. Judging by the photos of the swatches, the lipsticks are more misleading than the eye shadows seem. The photos make the lipsticks appear excellent pigmentation but the actual product is a lot more washed out. Even though the lipsticks are £1.99, they are good value for the money. If it was any more expensive it would be a rip off.
This is the lip gloss in 'Cherry Drop'. I picked up this because it reminded me of the Beauty
UK Lip Lust in Barbie Girl. This lip gloss is nowhere near as pigmented as the Beauty UK one as you can see in the swatch photos. I am quite disappointed with this lip gloss for that reason, I think that the price I paid is too high for the quality of the product. Then again, if you want something like this, then this is perfect for you, but I was under the impression it was going to be a bright crystal pink. It smells really good though :)
This is the tinted lip balm in 'Lychee Twist'. Normally with tinted lip balms they are presented like a lipstick but you get the occasional one where it is in a lip gloss tube. It is very moisturizing which is a good thing but again the colour payoff is, to put it mildly, crap. If you want something sheer like this for school or work then again, its great, but if you want something that actually appears the colour shown in the tube then avoid this all together.
It all depends what kind of pigmentation you want. If you want to find something sheer then these are really great products for you, but I don't think I will be purchasing these lip products again unfortunately. I am intrigued to try other products in this range, not sure what I want to buy yet, but I won't be rushing to purchase them.
This is what the actual packaging on the lipsticks look like. As you can see they are very sleek and short and can easily fit into a bag or pocket so you can take them on the go.
