Five Steps to Brow Perfection?

New from Real Techniques, the latest brush set features all the tools you need to define, fill in and shape your brows. This Brow Set retails for £19.99 and contains two pairs of tweezers, three slanted brow brushes and a panoramic brush case/stand.

If you are familiar with Real Techniques brushes, the first thing you notice about the design and packaging of this brush set is that the overall feel of it is different, the colours are brighter, the logo has changed and I think it looks a lot more professional and the presentation has been improved.
Since these are brushes for the eyes, they are purple just like all other Real Techniques eye brushes. One thing that I noticed is that there is a lot of packaging within the box, and I do mean a lot. The main box which contains the product is plastic and inside there are other little bits of packaging which personally I think are completely unnecessary. I personally really hate when there is so many little random bits and pieces of plastic within the main packaging.
The panoramic case is a light grey/silver colour and has the same style as the other cases with their brush sets, you can fold it over like a book and secure it with the Velcro to make it a case for travelling with you brushes, or you can fold it over to create a stand to display your brushes or to use for drying brushes upside down and you can tighten the toggle to make the stand. The brushes and tweezers are held in place within the case under stretchy elastic bands to help secure them when travelling or drying brushes.
The first two things within the brush set are two pairs of stainless steel tweezers. I have to say these are super high-quality tweezers and you have two different pairs. One pair is an angled tweezer with flat edges and this is great for 'expertly shaping brows' and removing any obvious stray hairs from your brow shape. The other pair is a detailing tweezer which has a pointed tip which will clean up and remove short, fine hairs from around the brow. The tweezers feel really strong and durable, when I used them they were easy to use with no fuss.

The first brush within the set is a Slanted Brow Spoolie. This is 'perfectly sized for brow grooming and blending' - but it is quite small for thicker brows I think. My brows aren't too thick but they're not at all thin either, so I would have liked this to be a bit bigger to make it easier for grooming thicker brows. I still like it, the size of it makes it effective for being really precise with blending out excess brow product but the only thing I don't like about it is the fact that it is so small for actually grooming and combing through brows.

This next brush is called the Slanted Arch Definer which is probably one of the most confusing eye brow brushes I've come across. It has a 'unique design allowing you to plot your perfect brow shape' and on the packaging it says you can refer to the Real Techniques YouTube channel to watch the video about how to use it. It has a dense sponge-like tip that you can work with a brow powder to plot out the start, arch and end of the brow by using the guide shown on the front of the packaging. This is great for those of you unsure where to define your brows or if you have short, flat brows. If you are like me, however, and have longer brows with a visible arch to them then you don't really need this brush. Instead, you can use it so smudge out eyeliner on the upper or lower lash line.

The third and final brush within the set is called the Slanted Brow Brush and this is the brush that you use to actually apply brow products to the brows. It is synthetic so it is perfect for powder, cream or gel consistencies and it has an angle to the bristles making it almost effortless to use and it is also a really precise brush which also makes it easy to fill in brows, especially at the outer ends where the brows start to taper off into a thinner shape.
The slanted brushes are designed to allow for easy control when using them because you can see exactly what you are doing so you can ensure you get the best brow shape. The price tag is a bit on the pricey side; £20 for three brushes and two pairs of tweezers. This was what originally put me off buying these first time round, but I decided to go for it because I love Real Techniques brushes, they're always amazing quality. However now I admit I am slightly regretting spending that much on them. If it was anything under £20 I would have been a lot happier buying it but I honestly don't think it is worth that much money.

Have you tried this brush set? Do you think £20 is a fair price or do you think it's to expensive?
