Dramatic Valentines Day Makeup Tutorial
Valentines Day is in a few days and this tutorial is a darker and more dramatic look for the occasion using purple shades from the Collection Work the Colour Purple Eye Palette.
The first thing to do is apply a good base to make sure the shadow stays in place.
Using a flat eye shadow brush, I am patting the darker pink from this palette all over the lid.
Next using an eye crease brush, trace out the centre of the crease with the darker lilac shade and use a fluffy brush to soften the edges of the colour.
With the same brush, use the lightest lilac shade on the inner and outer part of the crease and blend the two shades together to fill in the crease. Gently blend with the lid colour.
Using a shading brush, pat the middle violet colour on the outer half of the lid and blend into the lid and crease colour to create a gradient and a more dramatic effect on the outer corner of the eye.
With a fluffy brush, use the lighter lilac shade to transition the darker purple from the crease into the highlight shade, using the palest colour in the palette. Then use the darker purple and an angled brush on the outer third of the lower lash line, the darker lilac on the centre of the lower lash line and the lightest purple on the inner part of the lower lash line. Dot some of the lightest colour in the inner corner.
I used liquid eyeliner to create a winged line and then curl your lashes and apply mascara.
I decided to add some false eyelashes to this look to add to the dramatic side of the makeup.
On my lips I used MUA Cosmetics Lipstick in Tulip.
