MUA Cosmetics New Lipstick Reviews

Today's review is on the four new lipstick from Makeup Academy's original £1 lipstick line. These new lipsticks are available from Superdrug or the MUA Online store.

MUA have stuck to the same classic packaging of their lipstick tubes that are the same as the previous line. The difference with these new lipsticks and the original shades is that the new ones have individual names whereas the old ones are numbered. They still have the small pot of colour in the same colour of the lipstick that can be used on its own or layered with each other.

From left to right: Flamingo, Tulip, Persian Rose and Raven

The shade 'Flamingo' is the lightest new shade. This is quite an accurate colour representation of a flamingo however to me it seems more of a candyfloss pink.

This is a really nice, highly pigmented shade however the formula of the lipstick is quite dry

When I applied this, it was quite patchy in application. Make sure that your lips are well conditioned and softened to try and make the application a bit smoother. But the actual lipstick is dry which makes it a lot more difficult.

This really nice wearable pink is called 'Tulip'.

Again, this is a really nice creamy and pigmented colour and I like this pink for an everyday wearable look.

This one is a lot more creamy and it is nice and smooth to apply.

This gorgeous hot pink is called 'Persian Rose'.

MUA also haven't disappointed me on the pigmentation or how creamy this lipstick is.

It's still quite a wearable colour but it does have a hint of neon colour which doesn't make it so appropriate for school or work or anything like that, but this is still a nice colour to wear.

This black is called 'Raven'.

Like the others, this one is just as pigmented and creamy and applies somewhat nicely.

However, it is quite messy to apply directly from the tube so I found myself using a lip brush for neater and more precise application, but this one is quite blotchy when you apply it and you need to take your time and build up the colour when using this.

Overall, these are really nice lipsticks, apart from Flamingo which is just a bit too dry however they all do have excellent colour pay off. I did notice with these particular lipsticks how easy they snap in the tube. I has them twisted up a little way, like shown above, and after swatching and applying them they snapped which is something I haven't seen with other lipsticks. This might be a result of them being made too creamy and it could have weakened the formula, so just be a bit extra careful with these.

Have you tried these lipsticks? Tell me your thoughts in the comments!
