Set Sail this Summer with Sleek

Set sail this Summer with Sleek's new limited edition Nautical Collection, inspired by the sparkling mysterious oceans of the world, bringing together clear blue seas and the deep depths of the unknown. This collection features three products; a 12 shade eye shadow palette, a 3 shade blush palette and a lipstick. I picked up the eye shadow palette and the lipstick as unfortunately, I didn't like the shades in the blush palette however Sleek say that the shades are suitable for everyone to warm your skin tone.
The packaging of every product in collection suits the nautical theme really well as they are packaged in sturdy cardboard boxes with the white, blue and red stripes with the 'Nautical Collection' logo stamped onto each package.
The 12 shade eye shadow palette, £7.99, is called 'Calm Before the Storm' and features a 'fleet of aquatic shades such as ultramarine, tropical blue and sea green, to lose yourself in the array of nautical high-summer hues'. It claims to have shades which are suitable for all skin tones and includes matte darker colours ideal for definition or perfecting a classy smoky eye.
The palette is packaged in the same matte case as the rest of the Sleek palettes and it has the name of the palette printed in white lettering on the bottom right hand corner.
When you open the palette, there is a clear plastic sheet like with most palettes and the name of each shade is printed on this. This makes it easier to refer to what the names of the shades are and it protects the eye shadows.
There is a built in internal mirror and a duo ended sponge tip applicator. The case feels very sturdy and there is a range of different blue tones with a few neutral colours to help with blending and to balance out the makeup look.
The placement of the eye shadows remind me of a beach, the warm neutral 'sand' tones are set on the left hand side of the palette and they gradually get darker until it transitions into the cool oceanic blue tones. The shades are mainly matte and some are more of a semi-matte satin colours and there are a few shimmer shades in there too, so a great mix of finishes.
On the top row, the shades from left to right are Starboard, Voyage, Pacific, Caesium, Amphitrite and Sovereign.
On the bottom row from left to right the shades are Ahoy!, Barque, Adrift, Seaweed, Navy Shower and Lagoon.
Each shade has good pigmentation and the consistencies feel very smooth. Starboard, Seaweed and Amphitrite are my favourite shades in the palette and they aren't too crumbly during application and they blend easily.
The Sleek Nautical Collection True Colour Lipstick is in the shade 'Reddy to Sail' which is a semi-matte coral-red lipstick, £4.99. This claims to be a 'highly pigmented semi-matte lipstick that provides long-lasting full coverage and helps to keep lips moisturised.' It is 'enriched with Vitamin E which helps to hydrate and protect your lips', it is 'ultrasmooth, lightweight and comfortable and is buildable for a subtle or dramatic finish.'
The tube of this lipstick has the same matte black casing with the shiny detailing.
The consistency of the lipstick feels very smooth. On unconditioned lips it doesn't glide on easily but it does help to condition them and the colour definitely is highly pigmented and creamy. The precise tip of the lipstick makes it easy to neatly apply in the corners and cupids bow of the lip.
When I applied the lipstick for the first time it definitely does feel weightless and the colour is long lasting. I absolutely love the colour, it is a perfect summer shade for a day or evening makeup look.
While I love both the palette and the lipstick, I personally wouldn't use them together in the same look only because the tones slightly clash with each other and the pigmentation of both products are fighting for attention which creates an unflattering effect in my opinion, I'd chose to use either the lipstick with a very simple neutral eye or are bolder and more colourful eye with a nude lip. However I am definitely going to be reaching for the lipstick during Summer and maybe even Springtime. I have created this eye makeup look using the blue shades from the palette.
I am beginning my mixing 'Barque' and 'Adrift' and blending this through the crease.
Then I am mixing 'Adrift' and 'Sovereign' and precisely blending this into the outer corner in a V shape tapering up towards the edge of the brow bone.
All over the lid I am patting the shade 'Seaweed' in a nice opaque layer.
Just to soften the join between the lid and crease colour, I am mixing 'Adrift' and 'Seaweed' and precisely into the crease to blend the two shades together.
Then on the outer corners I am precisely blending 'Sovereign' and 'Lagoon' just to add depth to the look.
I am dotting 'Starboard' into the inner corners to brighten up the look.
On the waterline, line it with a brown kohl pencil.
Then smudge out the brown line with 'Adrift' and 'Sovereign'.
Then I decided to apply some silver glitter to the lids and then lined my upper lash line with liquid liner.
Then I finished off by curling my lashes and applying mascara.

Have you tried any products in this Collection?
