Beauty Products You Need to Try this Summer

I am so excited to be continuing with my traditional annual Summer blog posts. I have three new 'Summer Spotlight' blog post every week until mid-August and today I am starting with my most loved products for Summer that I highly recommend you try for the season.

 Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder

This little compact powder is my most used product in my entire collection. Since I have combination skin that goes a bit more oily in the Summer I adore using this because it instantly absorbs excess oil in your skin as you apply it and it keeps that shine under control for hours. It's incredibly lightweight so it doesn't make my foundation cakey and it's super affordable at only £3 in Wilko.

 

Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Shade 17

I love this creamy and pigmented eyeliner because it's a great way to add a pop of colour to my makeup or as an alternative to the traditional black kohl pencil. It definitely is long lasting and this turquoise shade is my favourite one.

 

Makeup Revolution Aqua Seal Liquid Eye Primer

This isn't just a liquid eye primer, this is also described as a liner sealant. A great versatile product for Summer, it creates a base for eye shadow and a top coat for eyeliner to keep everything in place all day.

 

Makeup Revolution Blush Palette in Hot Spice

This is one of my recent purchases and I love this because the blush shades are nicely pigmented and there are different shades in there too, making it great to travel with. It's sleek, compact and very lightweight and there are more colour options as well, including a cream blush palette.

 

Makeup Revolution Radiance Palette

I've been contouring and highlighting a lot recently because I love the bronzed look in Summer and this is my go to highlighting palette for the season. There are three different highlighting shades in this little palette and I use a fan brush to enhance the strobing effect I use with another product that you will see later in this post.

 

Makeup Revolution Mermaids Forever Palette

 For a colourful eye makeup look or a vibrant pop of colour, this is my go to palette. This contains 32 mesmerizing and oceanic themed shades including pinks, oranges, blues, greens and even some neutral browns to help with blending.

 

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer

An affordable dupe for the Benefit Porefressional, this erases pores and fine lines in the skin to create a smooth base for foundation application. It feels very smooth on the skin and is great for Summer because it keeps hold of makeup in place for hours.

 

Maybelline Dream Flawless Foundation in Shade 10 Ivory

My favourite ever foundation is light enough to comfortably wear in warmer weather without melting off. The liquid consistency applies and blends effortlessly and excellently evens out skin tones.

 

Maybelline The Colossal Go Extreme Volume Waterproof Mascara

My go-to waterproof mascara for summer enhances the volume and length of your lashes, easily separating the lashes and lasting all day.

 

MUA Cosmetics Highlight Shimmer

I have been loving the strobing makeup trend and the cream highlight I use is this MUA Luxe Shimmer Highlight Stick. I glide this over my cheekbones, underneath the hollows of my cheekbones, the centre of my forehead, bridge of my nose and the chin. After I blend out the edges I apply my foundation over the top and it gives a really gorgeous glow to the skin.

 

MUA Bronze & Sculpt Contour Kit in Light/Medium

This contour kit contains a matte contour powder and a shimmer highlight powder and I use the matte contour powder in the hollows of my cheeks, the temples and around the hairline, under my jawline and the sides of my nose and it blends out so easily and I love the bronzed look in Summer.

 

MUA Cosmetics Pro Base Fixing Mist

For an extra barrier to prevent makeup from smudging or running in the summer weather, I spritz this fixing mist from MUA over my face and it sets makeup in place for around 8 hours, preventing it from fading or melting in the sun. It's also very refreshing so great to use during the day to refresh your skin.

 

MUA Sweet Sheen Lip Balms

I have two of MUA's Sweet Sheen lip balms and they are great for daytime in the Summer because they condition the lips while providing a subtle wash of colour.

 

Nivea Hydro Care SPF15 Lip Balm

This is my go-to lip balm because it provides lots of moisture thanks to the aloe vera and pure water ingredients and also protects your lips from the sun. This is by far my favourite lip balm I have ever used.

 

NYC BB Cream in Light

This is a lightweight instant matte BB Cream which is so good at covering discolouration and evening out skin tone. It feels really nice on the skin and is comfortable to wear and it is long lasting.

 

Sleek I-Divine Del Mar Volume 2 Palette

Another palette for Summer is the Sleek Del Mar Volume 2 Palette and this has gorgeous yellow, blue and peach tones just to name a few and the colours are so amazingly pigmented with a white eyeliner base blended onto the eyes before the shadows. The colours reflect the beach and ocean settings.
