Two Easy Summer Beach Wave Curls using Straigteners

When I curl my hair I like to use my straighteners because it's quicker, easier and the curls last longer since my hair is quite thick. I've been trying out different ways to curl my hair and for Summer a really popular look is beach waves. I have two ways to get two different beach wave inspired curls using a pair of straighteners.
Make sure that you have enough heat protector in your hair to prevent the heat from the straighteners damaging your hair. It is better to use straighteners with rounded edges to get that free-flowing wave. If you have layers or thick hair like me, I like to use a mini pair of straighteners as well as the full size pair to make it easier to curl. Also, if this is the first time you are doing this, practise the technique with the straighteners while they are off to avoid any unnecessary burns or damage to your hair.

The first tutorial is a tighter spiral ringlet curl which takes a little bit of practise but once you know how it is easy. Start by clamping the straighteners onto a section of hair like you normally would to straighten it. It's completely up to you where you want to start the curl, it can be higher or lower depending on your hair length or what effect you are going for.
Then flip the end of the hair over the straightener.
Twist the straightener up and begin to move it down the hair at a consistent speed. For a looser wave, move it faster but for a tighter curl move it down slower.
As you start to move the straightener down, twist it up once more.
Continue to move the straightener down the section until you reach the end.
You get this tight spiral ringlet. Once it has set and cooled, run your fingers through it to loosen the curl and to separate it for a more relaxed effect. It takes around 20 minutes for your hair to cool completely. Repeat the process for each section of hair, starting from the back and working your way forward.
The second wave is a lot simpler to do and you get a crimped waved effect. Start by clamping the straightener onto the hair and then slightly turn it up and then move it down the hair.
Then turn it the opposite direction and then move it down the section and continue this alternating process until you reach the end of the section.
This is the effect you get and then repeat this process with the rest of the hair.
Here you have two different beach inspired waves using a pair of straighteners.

Which one is your favourite?
